Sayo Haraguchi

I woke up at 6:30. I was tired a little. Then I was going to absent to school. But today was last day of going to COC. So I said to my host mother, “I want to go to school.” Host Mother said to me, “If you are not feeling well in COC, you can ask to help to COC’s teachers.” It was very glad for me. I went to school. Everyone almost exchanged presents with their buddy. I took the hospitality lesson. We cook the chicken whole. It made me ill. So my buddy took me to school reception to rest. Ms Jones and Ms Keiko took care of me. They were very kind to me. In the afternoon there were the farewell party. I joined it. I talked with COC’s students and Sumiyoshi students. Then I took lessons in the afternoon. We played a game between

during the history lesson. After school I said see ya to my buddy. And I came back to our home. When we were coming back, I had a badly stomachache. It was the worst for me to feel bad. Then I had never felt bad. I had promised to run with Solomon; the youngest child of my host family. So we ran twice around our house. I thought it was childish of me to won the race. But it was very fun! My host mother had said to me yesterday, “If you feel better tomorrow, let’s go to eat out for dinner!!” So we went to restaurant. The dinner was served buffet style. My host mother promised to eat out with Sumiyoshi teachers. The total number was ten! We enjoyed eating and talking! After we ate dinner, we went to picnic point to see stars and the night view. We could see the Southern Cross, Orion and a lot of beautiful stars!! We also could see the night views of Toowoomba and Brisbane!! It was very beautiful!! I will never forget the scene!! Then we came back to our home and teacher’s hotel. In the night I wrote a letter to hand to my host family tomorrow. I thought today’s experience is very precious for me. I could make very precious memories in this study and training!! Thank you everyone!!

              Last day of study trip was just move. I really didn’t want to go back to Japan. Australia is really awesome country. People are cheerful and kind! Every food is so good! The nature is very clean! I couldn’t find a weak point!!

Aussie people like music very much. They always get into the rhythm. And, many people can play any instrument. I can also play the guitar, but I have no friends who play the guitar together in Japan. I always wanted to play music together. In music class, my dream came true!! I could play many Metallica songs with Christian Outreach High School students. It was really awesome time for me.

Every Aussie food was very delicious. The most Aussie food is vegemite. Taste is like thick soy sauce, but many Japanese people don’t like it. Almost of my friends said so, but I could eat vegemite. My host family seemed to be happy because I am only person who can eat vegemite. I think meat pie is the best food in this trip. I want to eat it again!! Australian people eat every fruit with skin except banana, orange, and kiwi. When I saw everyone ate fruit with skin I was surprised. My host family said skin has good nutrition. When Japanese people eat grape, they should eat with skin. To peel grape skin is very troublesome.

              Toowoomba has really good nature and very big land. I have never seen such a vast scenery in Japan. There were many Aussie animals. I could see wild kangaroo, cockatoo. However, there were few insects. I thought there are many big cockroaches in Australia. I hate it, so I really worried about it. But, I didn’t see it and mosquito. Toowoomba was very comfortable.

              These elements are much better than Japan, I think. However Japan also has many good points. I could recognize Japanese good points again. To go abroad is very good chance to find many good points. I want to go abroad again and want to have good experience. This study tour became my good first step for my dream.

Hi, how areya?

I and Eriko got up at 6:30am. We ate bread for breakfast and took pictures with our host family.

After that, they gave us chocolate and three letters as a present. These letters were from Ashleigh, Annalise and Navasha. Ashleigh and Annalise are our host sisters. Navasha is an international student from the Papua New Guinea. Then we gave them a postcard.

I and Eriko went to the COC with our host mother. She is a teacher of the COC. Then I said good-bye to her and hugged her. I was so sad to part from my host family and I miss them now…

After we left Toowoomba, we went to the zoo in Gold Coast. I held a koala, touched a kangaroo and took a train there! It was sooooooooo exciting!

After that, we went to shopping. We freely bought the souvenir and had lunch. Then, we went to the beach. We took a lot of pictures there J

We had dinner at Hard Rock Café. The taste was very good and the waiters were very cool J

After the dinner, I swam in the pool at the hotel with my friends. I had an awesome time with them J

At night, we gathered in one room. We talked in the veranda all night! haha

I was able to make a good memory with my friends today J

G’day mate! Last night, I and Kiri-chan planed to get up at

6:30

, but we got up at

5:30

because of my alarmL I’m sorry, Kiri. I went to the COC with my host family, and I exchanged good-byes with them. I want to say ‘Thank you so much!’ to my host familyJ

I miss you all…

After we left COC, we went to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary by bus. It took about 2hours. In the bus, we talked all the time. In the zoo, I took picture with a koala!! The koala was sooooo cute ;) There were so many animals. It is examples, kangaroos, crocodiles, Tasmanian devils, and emus! We inspected there about 2hours. Then we arrived in Gold coast, and we went to shopping and beach. I bout so many snacks^^ We ate dinner at Hard Rock Café! The taste was delicious, and the clerks were so cool. I have really taken to this restaurantJ

We stayed at Vibe hotel Gold coast. After dinner, I swam at the pool with members of this study trip. I had a wonderful time with them. At night, 2^nd grade’s students gathered one room. We kept talking all the night!! It was so funJ

I could make so good memories the day. See ya!!!

3/22(Tue)

In the morning, I watched Selena’s band practice.

Selena is my host family.

Some COC students practiced the musical instrument there.

They were very cute!!

And I played a cymbal for the first time.

In the school, a farewell party held.

I really miss Casey!! Thank you Casey, and Astrid!!

In the home, I wrote letters for host family, Mum, Dad, William, Selena, Connor.

They are very kind to me, and they are very warm.

After dinner, I was called by mum, and I went to a living room.

When I have entered the room, she gave me many presents.

I was surprised, and very glad!!

And, I gave them my letters. At once, they read my letters each other.

Selena was very glad, and she read my letter any number of times.

William said “did you write to all letters, I love you?? I thought only me!!”

Connor can’t read a letter, so his mother read. And, he was very glad.

I drew pictures for him. And he said “please draw pictures much more!!”

I love this family. I don’t go back to Japan.

I thank them, and teachers of Sumiyoshi high school, and my family.

Misaki Morimoto(3/22)

    Today was my last school of day. I am very sad. The time we spent in Australia was little. But, I want to enjoy Australia, even though it is drawing to an end.

     I got up at 7:00 this morning. Today was nice weather. Saki and I went to school with my host mother by car. In school, I was studying and action with my buddy. My buddy’s name is Tegan Homem.

She is very cute and a funny girl, so, I love her. She gave me lovely Australian presents. I was very happy to get them. After morning classes, we had a “Thank you party.” It was so exciting!!! I ate a meat pie, but it was too hot to eat. We enjoyed the last lunch with Australian friends very much. When I left at school, I took a lot of photos with my friends. I will miss them so much. On the way home, we went to a Japanese garden, “Ju Raku En”. It was very big and beautiful place. Today’s dinner was KFC yeahhhhhhhhhhhhJ!

I have to pack during the night, because we will leave at here tomorrow morning. I’m very sad and packing is pain Xb

    I enjoyed my day at school today, and I hope tomorrow will be just as good even though we will be saying good bye.

  We held a farewell party because today was the last day to visit C.O.C. We ate meat pies and had a wonderful time. We sang “Country Road” for our buddy and teachers. We ate a meat pie with our hands!! One of the Australian teachers said “This way is Australian style.” After school, we took a lot of photos with Australian friends and talked while waiting for our host family.

After coming back home, my host family tookus driving. It was so enjoyable and exciting J We went to look at “Table Top Mountain”. The view was really beautiful!! I took many photos.The sky was so large and the clouds were big. Our host family gave a great experience for us.

  I had such an interesting day. I hope that tomorrow will be an interesting day too.

G’day mite! Everyone!

    I’m really enjoying with my host family now! I and Misaki have visited with Mr Peter & Ms Lorrain since last Tuesday. They are very kindly and friendly! At first, I was little nervous, but now, I really love them! I wanna tell you about them more but I have to write my diary.

    Today, I got up 6:30, and I took shower. And I had a breakfast. We left at home at 8:20 and went to School. My buddy is Yanerle Kimmins. She is very funny girl! I liked her as soon as we met. Our first and second classes were math, but I couldn’t understand what we should answer, so I was thinking about tomorrow’s speech. After W math, we had a morning tea time. I like this system. I want Sumiyoshi H.S. to have this system, hahaha. I talked and took photos with many friends! They are very awesome!! We had W drama classes after morning tea. The lessons were sooooo exciting! We acted like real actors and actress, yeah! I like this lesson! Our fifth class was animation. We make animation with using PC. But, it was difficult to make it for me... After the class, we had a lunch! (Peter always makes our lunch.) I talked with my buddy and Australian friends! Next class was music. We had it last Friday. Last one was very fun because we could play the instrument like guitar, piano and drums freely. But today, we listened to teacher so I was bored... Our last class was English. Students had an exam, so we went to the library. At home, I had a short sleep because I was tired.  Today’s dinner was BBQ! It was very delicious! Actually, we’ll have BBQ tomorrow’s lunch but, it’s OK, haha. And now, I’m writing this ;D I really love my host family and my Aussie friends! I don’t wanna back to Japan. But tomorrow is the last time that I can spend with my host family, so I’m very sad. I miss them---!

Today was also nice day. I’ll make tomorrow to be more wonderful day, yeah! See ya!

Megumi Shimbashi(3/20)

We stayed at Helen’s sister’s house from Friday. Helen is my host mother, and her sister’s name is Melinda. And in this morning, we went to the market, and Kasumi and I bought same key chain and toy. Both of them are caterpillar! Also, we saw the beautiful sea on the way to the market. But the weather was not so good. I think if the weather is good, the sea is more beautiful. After shopping Helen gave us meat pie. It was soooo good! Next, we went to friend’s house. There are four little girls, and we went to the park with them. They were all very cute, but I was really afraid that they can’t understand my English, but the worry was turned out to be needless because they were very kind and friendly! So I could have an awesome time with them! After that, we went Melinda’s house. And soon, we packed our things, and we went back to Toowoomba after three hours. Today was really wonderful day!! I hope yesterday will also be wonderful day. See ya!

HIroki Ishibashi(3/20)

March 20.

Today I went to church. I thought that church is a very quiet place but it is not true because Australia’s church is like a live studio. I very surprised!! However I am thinking this is good because this is very fun and I can make friends. I introduce my friend Ben. I met him today in church. He is very interesting and kind. He had lived in Osaka while a years so he speaks Japanese very well and he knows a lot of things in Japan for example Japanese comedian name of “Kasuga”, “AKB48”, place name of” Suminoe” and so on. He is very nice guy!! After I went out church, I went to Thailand restaurant. Probably this restaurant is famous. I ordered “Beef oyster with rice”. This was very delicious. After eating, we talked maybe an hour and we had just finished talking, we went home. Next I played with Wrex. Wrex is my host family’s son. He is five years old. He is very very very fine so I played him after I am tired but plying with him is fun. Today we played soccer, make bubble, and so on. I spend very fun time.

Finally, I know Japan is terrible and I am anxious Japan. I see news in Australia. However I am “ in Australia” so I absorb a lot of things and enjoying myself. This is a good experience for me and probably this is useful in the future. Australia is very good place and I am very very enjoying!!!!
